Wasp nest

So here's a picture of my wasps nest. I'm guessing they're tree wasps but I'm not sure. Its rather beautiful. Unfortunately its right by the public footpath so I had to inform the council. Hopefully they wont do anything, children will get horribly stung & the wasps will thrive.

That makes me cringe. The last time I was stung by a wasp (inside a classroom, no less) I spent two days in the hospital.

Hi Rich
Nice to see you have some pets at last. Have you tried to eat them yet?
Cheers

They're your pets? I think they will suit you much better than a nice kitten. Don't need to feed them and they will scare away unwelcome visitors. Better get busy naming them all.

(Hope your dad is ok. Ow.)

Nice looking nest! I enjoy using those cans of poison that shoot like 20 feet so you can kill them from a somewhat safe distance.

Hey, I don't see any wasps. Try pounding on it to wake them up.

I thought it was an elephant hiding in the tree!

It looks like an ordinary common wasp nest - assuming it's the normal kind of wasps coming out of it (either the German wasp, Vespula germanica or the common wasp, Vespula vulgaris), or if they're a bit bigger it could be the new colonist Dolichovespula media which I've never seen. Hope your Dad's forgiven them!
