feelin' groovy

Out in the yard this morning before work a robin came and ate from the bird feeder whilst I was still filling it. Then, as I was walking into work through the snow a couple of swans flew overhead. That's always a wonderful sight.

feeling pretty good this morning.

you've been believing the news of the world again Merk.

Bird flu has killed less than 100 people world wide. Is only contractable by close contact with infected birds (this is true of bird to bird infection as well as bird to human infection). There is little evidence that bird flu is spread by migrating birds. A few migrating birds have contracted bird flu by feeding amongst infected chickens at their point of origen but there is no evidence of them having passed on the virus at their destination. Bird flu only spreads rapidly amongst sick, malnourished, old or overcrowded chickens, it can be relatively easily controlled in environments where chickens are properly cared for. Both humans and birds can be vaccinated against bird flu.

No one in the UK has, or (OMR predicts) will die of bird flu. (except perhaps some oap who has sex with chickens. And the ordinary flu would have finished them off anyway). Despite the huge quantities of scare mongering by the press, bird flu is a non story.

Get fucked, I've not read the NoTW since I bought it to see if you were on the front of it with all of the others. ;-)

You clearly weren't getting the irony this morning.

Theres a tree outside my bedroom window and this morning when I opened the curtains 4 grey cats were sat on a branch looking in.

I looked at them and they looked at me. Surreal.

Don't listen to that man merk, he seems a bitter sort.

"It was morning, and the new sun sparkled gold across the ripples of a gentle sea. A mile from shore a fishing boat chummed the water. And the word for Breakfast Flock flashed through the air, till a crowd of a thousand seagulls came to dodge and fight for bits of food. It was another busy day beginning."
